1. Data collected when visiting the website and registration

The content on our website can be used without registration. However, for the sake of transparency we inform you that we (in collaboration with an external service provider) collect data generated by the users of our website and in order to measure the performance of the website. We also collect data generated by users of the website who are applying for membership. Thereby information about user access such as IP address, date and time of access, name and URL of the file accessed, accessing website, browser used and the name of the user’s access provider is stored on the server of our website. In case of application for membership, we also collect data in order to initiate membership. Such data include the name of the applicant and his/her address. When collecting and processing personal data, we comply with the requirements of the Swiss Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

2. Data collected when subscribing to the newsletter

When subscribing to our Newsletter, you will be asked to provide your name, first name, email address and, on a voluntary basis, your affiliation. The data you are providing us with, will be used for the purpose of informing you about our activities.

3. Cookies

We use cookies on our website to optimise our services. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable the analysis of the use of our website. Through the measures listed below, we ensure that our website is designed in line with needs and continuously optimised. As a rule, the information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We only use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymisation. This means that your IP address is truncated in Switzerland, the European Union or the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted by your browser will not be merged with other data held by Google. Data disclosure to third parties will only take place upon your prior express consent, in case of a legal obligation or permission to do so, or if such disclosure is necessary to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. We take technical and organisational measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. When you visit our website, the SSL encryption method is used.

6. Rights related to your data

At any time you have the right to information, data rectification, data deletion, restriction of data processing, data portability, withdrawal of your consent and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can report this to us or to the competent supervisory authority. You have the right to object to the processing of your data if we process it for commercial purposes.
